Ramakrishna Mission Residential College Info

The College was established on the Ashrama campus in July 1960. Affiliated to the University of Calcutta, its first batch of students commenced classes in August 1960. Much later in 1976, the Higher Secondary Unit of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education started functioning on the college premises, but was shifted to the Vidyalaya after 2006. Autonomous status was conferred upon the college in 2008. Fully residential, this boys’ college follows the same principles and objectives as all other institutions functioning under the aegis of the Ramakrishna Mission. Swami Vivekananda believed education to be the panacea for all the evils running rampant in our country. He envisioned an educational system which would build character as well as ensure social upliftment. For such a system of education to become real and practical, an ambience of trust and love needed to be created. Through a happy combination of learning and practising, students could engage in a joyous participation in the learning process. A modern implementation of the ancient Gurugrihavasa was Swamiji’s solution. Teachers and students sharing the same living space, governed by moral and cultural modes of Indian life, in sylvan surroundings was the model chosen by the wise sages of the Ramakrishna Order. Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur was destined to become Swamiji’s realization of education being ‘the manifestation of perfection already in man.

M.Sc. Science - To be eligible for an M.Sc. degree, you must typically hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (like B.Sc.) from a recognized university and achieve a minimum aggregate score of 50-60%, though this percentage can vary by institution. Specific eligibility also depends on the chosen M.Sc. specialization and the policies of the particular university or college, with some requiring a Bachelor's degree in a subject that aligns with the M.Sc. program.
B.Sc Science - To be eligible for a B.Sc. degree, you must have passed your 10+2 (Class 12th) examinations with a science stream, including core subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or Biology (PCB), and secured the minimum aggregate marks specified by the university, typically between 50% and 60%. Some B.Sc. specializations, like Computer Science, require PCM, while others, such as Nursing, require PCB.

Eligibility criteria can vary by university, so always check the specific requirements for your chosen program.
BA Arts - To be eligible for a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree, you must have successfully completed the 10+2 level education or an equivalent from a recognized board or institution, irrespective of your stream (Arts, Commerce, or Science). Specific MA programs, such as those in music or economics, might require an undergraduate degree in a related field. It's essential to check the exact criteria for the specific university and MA specialization you're interested in, as requirements vary.
