SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur – Application/Admission Process

Details of the admission process are furnished in the following table:

SASTRA – Admissions to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in Main Campus and SRC

Stream 1

Based on Scores obtained in JEE (Mains) and XII Marks/Merit

70% of seats shall be filled based on normalized aggregate Class XII Marks and JEE (Mains) Scores taken together with 50% weightage each.

All students are considered for both streams by default.  If a particular student in Stream 1 has not appeared for JEE (M), no weightage shall be given, and his/her rank shall be determined based on the marks/merit scored in Class XII alone.  JEE (M) is not mandatory.

Stream 2

Based on Scores/Marks obtained in Class XII

The remaining 30% of the seats shall be filled based on normalized Class XII marks scored in the State/Central Board Exam merit

SASTRA – Admissions to Postgraduate Engineering /Management Programmes

Admissions are based on Marks/Scores obtained in the Qualifying Examination.

GATE-qualified candidates are given preference for Engineering Programmes.  For MBA Programmes, scores obtained in CAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT are given preference in admission.

SASTRA – Admissions to Law Programmes

Admissions are based on Marks/Scores obtained in the Qualifying Examination and CLAT

Aggregate marks of the Qualifying examination (75%) and CLAT (25%) shall be considered.

SASTRA – Admissions to all other Programmes (Sciences/Arts/Commerce/Education etc)

Based on the merit/marks scored in the respective Qualifying Examination

The application process for admission

Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria are required to submit their applications online. Candidates need to visit the official website of SASTRA Deemed to be University, register using their valid Email ID and mobile, pay the requisite application fee, fill in the details, upload all relevant documents, and photos, and submit.  Shortlisted students shall be called for counseling and successful candidates shall be issued with a provisional admission letter.  They need to complete pre-admission formalities and confirm their seat.
