Snehangshu Kanta Acharya Institute of Law (SKAIL), Kalyani – Application/Admission Process

Snehangshu Kanta Acharya Institute of Law offers two primary courses: the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (BA LLB) and the Master of Laws (LLM). Below is the admission process for each course.

1. BA LLB (Hons):

• Eligibility: Candidates must have completed their Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination with at least 45% marks. There is a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates.

Admission Process:

• Application Form: Candidates must fill out the application form, which can be obtained from the SKAIL office or downloaded from the official website. A fee may apply for the form.
• Entrance Examination: Admission is based on merit, which may include performance in an entrance examination conducted by the institute.
• Document Submission: Applicants must submit necessary documents, including educational certificates, identity proof, and photographs, during the application process.
• Counseling: Shortlisted candidates will be called for counseling, where they will be required to present original documents for verification.
• Final Admission: The final admission will be granted based on the merit list and counseling results.

2. LLM:

• Eligibility: Candidates must hold an LLB degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.

Admission Process:

• Application Submission: Interested candidates should apply using the prescribed application form, available from the SKAIL A fee of INR 350 is required, payable via a Demand Draft.
• Admission Test: Candidates will be assessed based on their performance in an admission test conducted by the institute.
• Academic Record Review: The past academic performance at the LLB level will also be considered for selection.
• Group Discussion: Shortlisted candidates will participate in a group discussion to evaluate their communication and analytical skills.
• Final Selection: The final selection will be based on the combined performance in the admission test and group discussion.
