  • Entrance Examination: Admission is based on the entrance exam conducted by the University of Calcutta. Candidates who are appearing for the H.S. examination can also apply, but their admission will be contingent upon successful completion of the exam.
  • Application Process: Interested candidates must apply online through the Calcutta University registration portal. The application form requires candidates to upload necessary documents, including a passport-sized photograph and valid signatures.
  • Counseling: After the entrance exam results are announced, a counseling session will be conducted where candidates will be allotted seats based on their performance in the entrance exam.
  1. BA-LLB (Honours):
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the BA-LLB (Honours) program, candidates must have completed the H.S. examination and must also have passed the first to fourth semesters of the BA-LLB program.
  • Merit List for Admission: Admission to the Honours course occurs in the sixth semester, based on a merit list that considers the marks obtained in the H.S. examination and the first to fourth semester marks of the BA-LLB program.
  • Application Process: Similar to the BA-LLB, candidates must apply online through the Calcutta University portal. The application process includes the submission of requisite documents and information.
  • Counseling: Candidates will be called for counseling based on their merit list ranking, where they will be assigned seats in the Honours program.
  1. LLM:
  • Eligibility Criteria: Candidates seeking admission to the LLM program must have completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. This ensures that applicants have a solid foundation in legal studies before advancing to postgraduate education.
  • Entrance Examination: Admission to the LLM program is based on an entrance test conducted directly by the University of Calcutta. This examination assesses the candidates' knowledge of law and their readiness for advanced legal studies.
  • Application Process: Interested candidates must apply online through the official registration portal of the University of Calcutta. The application process typically begins in July, and candidates should keep an eye on official announcements for specific dates and instructions.
  • Document Submission: Along with the application, candidates are required to submit necessary documents, including their LLB degree certificate, mark sheets, and identification proof. This documentation is crucial for verifying eligibility and academic background.
  • Counseling Process: After the entrance examination results are declared, a counseling session will be held where candidates will be allotted seats based on their performance in the entrance test. This process helps in finalizing admissions and ensuring that students are placed in the program according to their ranks.

Both courses have an intake capacity of 120 seats, and the application process typically begins shortly after the announcement of H.S. examination results.
