St. John's School of Nursing Info

St. John’s School of Nursing embarked on its journey in 1980, laying the foundation for excellence in healthcare education. Initially offering General Nursing and Midwifery courses with a modest intake of 20 students, the institution steadily evolved. In 1989, it achieved the status of a College of Nursing, aligning its programs with the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Over the years, the institution expanded its academic offerings, introducing Basic B.Sc. Nursing in 1989 with 30 students, a number that increased to 100 by 2009. Additionally, the institution introduced P.B.B.Sc. Nursing in 1990, initially enrolling 20 students and progressively expanding to accommodate 60 students by 2015. The M.Sc. Nursing program commenced in 1995 with an intake of 8 students, experiencing significant growth to enrol 33 students by 2009. Furthermore, the institution ventured into advanced nursing education with the initiation of the M.Sc. in NPCC program in 2019, welcoming 5 students. Notably, the institution's commitment to academic excellence is underscored by the establishment of a Ph.D. program in nursing, housed with the Centre for Medical Surgical Nursing, affirming its dedication to shaping future leaders and innovators in the field of healthcare.
