St. Mary’s Centenary Degree College (SMCDC) was established in 2001 under the aegis of the Hyderabad Archdiocese Educational Society as a Catholic Christian Minority co-educational institution. The college was founded to mark the centenary celebrations of St. Mary’s High School (established in 1895) and St. Mary’s Centenary Junior College (established in 1985), continuing a proud legacy of transformative education rooted in faith, values, and service.
Guided by its patron, Blessed Mother Mary, the college upholds the core values of Love, Service, and Sacrifice, symbolically enshrined in its emblem: Love for Humanity, Service to Society, and Sacrifice to God. With the vision “to be an educational hub for a student’s holistic development and thus empower them with tools of love, service, and sacrifice to become catalysts of positive change toward a better society,” SMCDC began its academic journey with affiliation to Osmania University and recognition by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f).
Conveniently located in the heart of Hyderabad, just 1 km from Secunderabad Railway and Bus Stations, the college opened in 2001 with a modest intake of 80 students in B.Com (General) and B.Com (Computers). Responding to growing academic demand, the college gradually expanded its intake across these programs in the following years and introduced new academic streams.
