Admission to Stella Matutina College of Education (SMCE), Chennai, follows a structured process based on government and Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU) norms.

Admission Overview

  • Seat Allocation: Admissions are split into two quotas:
    • 50% Government Quota: Filled through single-window centralized counseling conducted by the Department of Higher Education, Tamil Nadu, based on merit in the qualifying degree.
    • 50% Management Quota: Filled by the college management based on merit and communal reservation.
  • Eligibility (B.Ed): Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
    • Note: Relaxation in qualifying marks is provided for reserved categories (SC/ST/MBC/DNC/BC) as per state government rules.

The application process for the 2026-2027 academic year commenced on March 4, 2026.

  1. Form Availability: Application forms can be downloaded from the official college website or collected in person from the college office on working days.
  2. Submission: Completed application forms must be submitted offline (either in person or via post) to the college address:
