Thakur Educational Trust (TET) incepted Thakur College of Science & Commerce (TCSC) in the year 1992 with the purpose of enhancing human capabilities and a strong commitment to provide best and industry relevant education to students. Having started with a single division of 58 students of Junior Science, it has grown to a multifaceted institution that offers a wide range of programs in various fields.

TCSC caters to all students, from diverse backgrounds and provides a wide choice of opportunities for academic enhancement and all-round growth. Each student is offered an open platform to display his/ her talent or varied skill sets, in addition to curricular, co-curricular and extra- curricular activities. These varieties of programs inculcate and nurture the qualities of students such as leadership, administrative, organizing capability and managing skills.

TCSC is an NAAC accrediated institution with its processes standardised under ISO 21001:2018. University Grants Commission (UGC) has conferred ‘AUTONOMOUS STATUS’ (affiliated to University of Mumbai) for the period of 10 years to TCSC from the academic year 2019-2020. This Autonomous status gives greater academic freedom to design innovative programmes to meet industry needs, skill-based courses for employability and a quest for excellence.

The college offers various programmes of Junior Science and Junior Commerce, Undergraduate and Post Graduate programmes in the faculty of Science, Commerce and Arts. It is also has a recognized center for the Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry, Zoology & Physics. The College also has International Academic Collaborations with foreign Universities of Canada, Australia and United States of America to assist students explore newer avenues in their career advancement. Field trips, Industrial Visits, Seminars and Conferences organized by each department exposes the students to real life corporate situations.
