The Bapatla College of Arts & Science : Ranking, Admissions 2026-27, Courses, Fees, Placements, Scholarship

 The Bapatla College of Arts & Sciences, Bapatla sponsored by the Bapatla Education Society, was established in 1963. The starting of the college was in fulfilment of the long cherished desire of the people of Bapatla area to have a center of higher education.  Annavarapu Pundarikakshudu Scholarship Trust and Eastern Chowltry Trust had severely donated Rs.55,000/- and Rs.5,000/- respectively to form the financial nucleus of the society. The College also owes its existance not a little to the Bapatla Municipal Council and the generous and philanthropic spirit of a host of other donors and devoted men of action of Bapatla and the villages nearby.  The Government of Andhra Pradesh was gracious to allot 28 acres of land.

 Starting with strength of 181 PUC students in 1963, the college was granted permission for starting BA in 1964 and B.Com and B.Sc in 1965. The college is a composite college giving instruction for Intermediate, Graduate and PG courses. The present strength of the college is around 1800 of which nearly 800 are women. Thanks to the untiring efforts of the college committee and liberal grants from UGC, the college is now well equipped with spacious class rooms, laboratories, play field and two attached hostels one each for boys and women. The college is also equipped with a Computer center , Student center, Yoga center, Health center, Waiting rooms for girls, Placement cell, Grievance cell. An extension counter of Indian Overseas Bank  functions in the college campus. The total built up area of the college is 1,70,000 sq.ft. The college is affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University and is recognized by University Grants Commission under 2F. The college offers 6 programs for UG students and one for PG students. The UG & PG courses are of semester system. Over these years, the college has gained name and fame as a premier education center in this part of our state. Students from distant places prefer to join this college because of its academic excellence. It is one of the few colleges which started Computers, Electronics, Biochemistry, Microbiology courses very early i.e. in late 1988 and consistently good results are being achieved by the students of our college over the last four decades.The college can boast of distinguished alumni which includes Scientists, Engineers, Doctors, Administrators, Teachers, Chartered Accountants and many others. The Alumni Association of the college actively involves itself with activities of the present students by averaging scholarships, counselling classes.

The Parents Association is very helpful in the smooth running of the college. NCC and NSS units of the college play a major role in the social service activities prompted by the college. Blood Donation camps are regularly conducted in the college. The college is a center for entrance examination like GATE, Ed.CET and Public Service Commission examinations. Whenever there is a dire necessity, the college campus transforms into relief center for Cyclone and Tsunami victims. It has been an annual feature here to conduct one or more of Inter collegiate games of Acharya Nagarjuna University. Every year the college conducts state wide Inter collegiate Quiz and Debating Competitions The academic and administrative status of an institution is presently rated by the results obtained by the students of the institution in public examinations.  Because of the present policies of the Government, there is an emphasis on the quality of education provided in the institution.  Though the growth of the college during these years is consistent and continuous, there is a real need to assess the strength and weaknesses of the college in an objective manner. This quality assessment of the performance of the college is obtained by approaching NAAC. The evaluation by NAAC also strengthens the self confidence and respect of the staff students and management of the institution.
