Tilak Maharashtra University Admissions Details

Tilak Maharashtra University Application/Admission Process

Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth (TMV), Pune offers its admission across most UG, PG and PhD programmes, with online application and entrance/merit-based selection depending on the course. For 2026, students can broadly expect CUET/MAH CET/other state/national tests plus TMV’s own entrance exams for selected programmes, followed by counselling and document verification.

Key admission highlights 2026

  • Admissions run through TMV’s dedicated online admission portal, where candidates must register, fill the form, upload documents and track application status.
  • For many health, management, law, computer, and professional programmes, TMV uses a mix of external exams (CUET, MAH CET family, NEET, MAH MCA CET, MAH HM CET, etc.) and/or TMV’s own entrance tests, while several general UG courses remain largely merit-based on Class 12 marks.

Major programmes & entrance basis

1.Undergraduate (UG) programmes
Key streams include Arts, Commerce, Management, Computer Applications, Law, Hospitality, Media, Performing Arts and Health Sciences.

  • A., B.Com, BBA, BSc (various specialisations including Data Science/AI & ML, Biotechnology, etc.) generally admit on 10+2 merit plus scores in board exams / CUET where applicable.
  • BCA / BCA (Cyber Security) require 10+2 with minimum 50% marks; admission may consider TMV entrance or state-level CET/CUET scores depending on stream.
  1. Postgraduate (PG) programmes
  • MBA/PGDM: Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) plus valid score in exams such as CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, MAH MBA CET, followed by institute-level selection.
  • MCA: Graduation with minimum 50% (45% reserved) and MAH MCA CET score; admission is merit-cum-counselling based.
  • MA, MCom, MSc, MSW, MJMC and other PG degrees generally require relevant bachelor’s degree with minimum prescribed percentage; some subjects may have TMV entrance tests.
  • Law programmes (LLB 3-year, BA LLB 5-year) require graduation (for LLB) or 10+2 (for BA LLB) and typically involve a TMV-conducted entrance test; local/state law CET may also be considered.
  • Professional and allied programmes like B.Sc Hospitality & Tourism, BSc Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, BHMCT, BPT follow respective regulatory guidelines and often use state CET/NEET or institutional tests plus counselling.
  1. PhD and MPhil
  • TMV issues a specific annual notification for PhD admissions (full-time/part-time) mentioning disciplines, eligibility (usually relevant PG with minimum marks), application deadlines and fee details.
  • Selection is through a university PhD Entrance Test (PET) or exemption on the basis of NET/SET etc., followed by interview and research proposal evaluation.

 Admission Process Steps

Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth (TMV) follows a mostly uniform, step-wise admission process that starts with online registration, application form filling, document upload/verification, entrance test (for relevant courses), and ends with fee payment and confirmation of admission.

  1. Check course & eligibility
  • Visit TMV’s official website and go to the “Admissions/Admission Open” or relevant department page to see programmes, intake and eligibility.
  • Confirm minimum academic qualifications (10+2/graduate marks, subject requirements) and whether the course is merit-based or entrance-based (TMV CET / MAH CET / other exams).
  1. Prepare documents (scanned & physical)
    • Keep scanned copies ready: passport size photo (<100 KB), signature, mark sheets (10th/12th/degree), category certificate, ID proof, migration/transfer certificate etc. as per the online admission manual.
  • For foreign/NRI students, additional documents such as passport, visa, residential permit and medical/HIV-negative report are required as per the foreign student admission procedure.
  1. Online registration on TMV portal
    • Go to TMV’s admission portal (New Student Registration) and create an account using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  • Verify email and mobile through OTP and then log in to your dashboard to start the application form.
  1. Fill application form & select course
    • Enter personal details, academic history, category, address and other required information as per the online admission user manual.
  • Choose the desired programme (UG/PG/Diploma/PhD) and centre/campus as applicable, then save and review all entries before final submission.
  1. Upload documents & pay application fee
  • Upload scanned documents in the prescribed format and size through the portal (photo, signature, mark sheets, certificates, etc.).
  • Pay the application/entrance fee online (net banking/card/UPI) and generate/print the application form or receipt as proof of submission.
  1. Entrance test registration (if applicable)
    • For courses having TMV Common Entrance Test (e.g., MBA, MCA, MSW, MMM, BFA, BEd, BPT, BSc Nursing and some others), fill the separate TMV online entrance/CET form and follow the specific procedure.
  • Download the entrance admit card from the entrance portal and appear for the test on the scheduled date, carrying required ID and documents.
  1. Merit list / result & selection
    • For merit-based courses, TMV prepares a merit list based on qualifying exam marks (and sometimes a composite score of 10th + 12th).
  • For entrance-based courses, selection is based on TMV-CET score and/or recognised external exams (MAH MCA CET, MAH MBA CET, etc.), followed by counselling or interview wherever applicable.
  1. Counselling, document verification & admission offer
    • Shortlisted candidates are called for counselling/interaction and in-person document verification at TMV headquarters or designated campus.
  • After verification, candidates receive an official admission intimation (email/admission letter) from the college/university for the selected course.
  1. Fee payment & confirmation of seat
    • Candidates must pay the prescribed course fee (full or first instalment) within the given deadline to confirm their seat.
  • On successful payment and completion of formalities, TMV issues final admission confirmation/enrolment; students then receive timetable, ID and can fill exam forms as per schedule.
