United Institute of Technology Scholarships & Eligibility

The United Institute of Technology (UIT), Coimbatore, provides several internal scholarship and fee waiver schemes to support meritorious and economically challenged students.

Internal Scholarship Schemes

UIT Coimbatore implements a policy to reward academic excellence and support students from diverse backgrounds:

  • Merit-Based Fee Waivers: These are typically awarded based on the cut-off marks secured in the Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinations:
    • 190–200: 100% tuition fee waiver (often specifically for first-generation graduates).
    • 180–189.75: 75% tuition fee waiver.
    • 170–179.75: 50% tuition fee waiver.
    • 160–169.75: 25% tuition fee waiver.
  • UIT Educational Trust Scholarship: A monthly stipend awarded based on academic performance in Anna University exams:
    • Rs.3,000 per month: For students maintaining a 9.0+ Grade or 90%+ marks.
    • Rs.2,000 per month: For students maintaining an 8.5–8.99 Grade or 80%+ marks.
  • Other Categories: The institute also provides specialized support, including:
    • SC/ST Scholarship: Includes full fee concessions (subject to government norms) and transportation/hostel waivers.
    • Special Scholarships: Available for students with a single parent or those from economically weaker sections.
    • Sports Scholarship: Based on achievements at the National, State, or District levels.
    • Referral Scholarship: Awarded based on recommendations from alumni, school principals, or trustee members.

Government Scholarship Schemes
