Acharya Nagarjuna University is located in the District of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh State, India. The University was established in the year 1976 through the Act 43 of 1976 of A.P. State Legislature and Governed by Act 4 of 1991. The university was first an extension centre of Andhra University and later upgraded as an independent university to cater to the educational needs of surrounding districts, Guntur, Krishna and Ongole (Prakasham). The university maintains two campuses in Nuzvid, Krishna District and Ongole, Prakasam District. Over 450 colleges in Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam Districts are affiliated to this university.
