51,500 write BRAOU eligibility test

In all, 51,500 candidates across the State appeared for the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) eligibility test conducted in 223 examination centres on Sunday. Those who qualify in the test will be given admissions into BA/ B Com/B Sc courses for the academic year 2012-13.
This year 211 inmates of various central prisons in the State also wrote the eligibility test, including 60 male and 11 female inmates from Cherlapally, 64 from Warangal, 30 from Rajahmundry and 13 from Kadapa, according to a press note from the open university here.

Vice-Chancellor of BRAOU P. Prakash and OSD P. Krishna Rao visited Cherlapally Central Prison where inmates were writing the test. They were received by Superintendent of Cherlapally Prison K.L. Srinivasa Rao, Deputy Superintendent B. Raja Mahesh, jailor M. Krishna Murthy and deputy jailor K. Narasimha Reddy, among others.
