Army college gets DGCA nod for training organization status: The Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Hyderabad, has gotten endorsement as a `type preparing association' for a select kind of helicopters.
Current Affairs The school was concurred the endorsement by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for the Lama (Cheetah), Alouette (Chetak) and Dhruv helicopters.
Lt Gen Gurmukh Singh, Commandant, MCEME and Colonel Commandant, Corps of EME, got the accreditation endorsement from Surender Toppo, Deputy Director (Air Worthiness), DGCA Hyderabad, in a function held at the school, an official discharge said.
Throughout the years, MCEME has developed into a chief preparing foundation of the Indian Army. It is a five-time beneficiary of Golden Peacock Award for Training, ISO-9001 Certification and four Prime Minister's Awards for Best Technical Projects, the discharge said. MCEME is partnered to Hyderabad-JNTU and New Delhi's JNU for its M. Tech, B. Tech and Engineering Diploma programs.
