AU to Go in for NAAC Accreditation

Visakhapatnam: The Andhra University will go in for NAAC accreditation in the months of March and April, said its vice-chancellor GSN Raju. He was addressing a meeting with the principals, heads and deans of the university Tuesday.

Raju said that the varsity would face the NAAC committee, for the third cycle, to prove its academic excellence and strong research base. He told the faculty to work with dedication and commitment to maintain high standards in acdemics and research activities.

The Government of India had recently allocated `1.75 crore to the AU for developing and improving its sports facilities. Multiple sports complexes (at a cost of `1 crore) and a 50-bedded hostel for sportsmen (worth `75 lakh) will be constructed with the help of the funds, the vice-chancellor informed.

Meanwhile, a delegation from Japan would visit the varsity shortly to discuss promotion of Japanese language, Raju added.
