For now, only primary schools have been ordered to stay closed. All schools have been given the option of conducting online teaching for classes 6 to 12.
All primary schools in Delhi have been ordered to remain shut till November 10, the Minister of Education of Delhi, Atishi, announced today morning.
The closure of schools has been announced due to the rising level of pollution in the city and the nearby areas.
“As pollution levels continue to remain high, primary schools in Delhi will stay closed till 10th November. For Grade 6-12, schools are being given the option of shifting to online classes,” she posted on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter).
This extension of school closure comes a few days after the capital’s chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, had announced closure of all government and private primary schools for two days. This was earlier announced for November 3 and 4, and has now been extended till November 10.
