'EAMCET website not hacked'

Hyderabad:The engineering counselling officials have dismissed the reports that the counselling website was hacked and options given by the students have been changed.

In a statement here, officials said that adequate security measures were adopted in designing the website and no one can change the passwords unless the candidates reveal their data and passwords to unauthorised persons.

Officials said all the options exercised by the candidates are intact and they need not panic in view of the reports appearing in a section of the media. candidates can check the options givenby them in home page of 'http://apeamcet.nic.in' in the link "view options and bio-data" for their satisfaction. candidates can change the options if they sodesire on August 10 as already notified.

Officials cautioned the candidates not to reveal basic information like hall ticket number, rank and date of birth to any one and get in to the clutche of unauthorised persons who promise to provide free transport, hostel facility,scholarships ar seat in a desired branch or college.

"The convenor is not responsible if candidates reveal such personal information to unauthorized persons," officials said.

with regards to the incident where a person was caught giving options on behalf of some students, officials blamed the students for providing key details to unknown people despite being cautioned by the officials said action would be taken against such people if it was brought to their notice.
