Fresh rules for transfer of MBBS, BDS internees issued

Hyderabad: The state government has issued comprehensive revised guidelines / rules to be followed from the academic year 2011-12 for transfer of internees both for MBBS/ BDS from one institution to another within and outside the state, subject to fulfillment of the following conditions.

A) The transfer of internship would be permissible only in the case of extreme hardship,

(b) Transfer of internees from one institution to another within and outside the state is permissible,

(c) Transfer of internees from one institution to another within the state headquarters / same city is not permissible,

(d) Transfer of internees from the institution within the state to institutions outside the state is permissible, subject to the condition that such institutions are recognized by the Medical Council India / Dental Council of India and certificate produced to that effect by the applicant and

(e) Internees who seek transfer of internship shall forego their stipend.

The permissible intake capacity of internees in respect of Osmania Medical College/ Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad and Gandhi Medical College/ Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad is 200 each and 50 at the Government Dental College, Hyderabad. Health and family welfare special chief secretary G Sudhir, who issued G.O. 241 on Monday said internees who seek transfer of internship from one institution to another within and outside the state would have to submit application forms for transfer at the office of the director of medical education in January and July every year.
