IIT Kharagpur Extends JAM 2027 Registration Deadline to October 24: Final Opportunity to Apply

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has announced a final extension for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 registration window. Eligible candidates who have yet to submit their applications now have until October 24, 2026, to complete the process.

According to the official notification released on the portal, this revision marks the last and final extension for JAM 2027 applications. Initially set for mid-October, the deadline was previously extended multiple times to accommodate aspirants, with the latest extension providing a crucial two-day buffer until October 24.

Aspirants aiming for admission into various postgraduate programmes—such as M.Sc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other interdisciplinary courses across various IITs and IISc—must complete their registration through the official website before the clock runs out.

Steps to Apply for IIT JAM 2027

Candidates can follow these simple steps to submit their applications online:

  1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to the official IIT JAM website at jam.iitkgp.ac.in.

  2. Complete Registration: Click on the JOAPS (JAM Online Application Processing System) portal link and register using a valid email address and mobile number.

  3. Fill out the Application Form: Log in with your credentials, enter personal and academic details, and select your preferred test papers and examination cities.

  4. Upload Required Documents: Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, category certificates (if applicable), and requisite academic mark sheets as per the specified dimensions.

  5. Pay Application Fees: Complete the transaction using online payment methods (credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI).

  6. Submit and Save: Review all details carefully, submit the form, and download/print a copy of the confirmation page for future reference.

Candidates are strongly advised not to wait until the final hours of the deadline to avoid potential last-minute technical glitches or server congestion on the portal.
