IIT JAM 2021 (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) is a National level Entrance Exam, a gateway for the students to get the admission into programmes at the IITs and Integrated PhD Degree Programmes at IISc for consolidating Science as a career option for bright students. IITs offer programmes like M.Sc. (Four Semesters), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, etc, for merit scorers of IIT JAM. IITs of Bombay, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Indore, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Gandhinagar, Madras, Ropar and Roorkee use IIT JAM score for intakes into their PG programs. IITs and IISc conduct IIT JAM every year on a rotational basis. IIT JAM 2021 is conducted by Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. JAM 2021 Examination is a Computer Based ONLINE Examination and it will be held on 14 February 2021 (Sunday).
The notification for IIT JAM 2021 jas been released in the month of September 2020. The online application process for the IIT JAM 2021 starts on 10th, September 2020 and ends on 15th October 2020 by 05:30 PM.

The admit card for IIT JAM 2021 will be available online from the month of January, probably in the second week.
How to get the IIT JAM 2021 Admit card:
Physics (PH): Simple Oscillators, Solid state physics, devices and electronics, Modern physics, Kinetic theory, Thermodynamics, Electricity and Magnetism, Oscillations, Waves and Optics, Mechanics and General Properties of Matter, Mathematical Methods
Chemistry (CY): Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry
Mathematics (MA): Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Group Theory, Vector Calculus, Differential Equations, Functions of Two Real Variables, Sequences and series of real numbers
Mathematical Statistics (MS):
This paper is divided into two parts: Statistics with 60 per cent weightage and Mathematics with 40 per cent weightage.
Statistics- Testing of Hypotheses, Estimation, Sampling distribution, Joint distribution, Standard distributions, Random variables, Probability.
Mathematics- Differential Equations, Matrices, Integral Calculus, Differential Calculus, Sequences and Series.
Biological Sciences (BL): Mathematical Sciences, General Biology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Basics of Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology
Geology: Applied Geology, Economic Geology, Petrology, Mineralogy, Stratigraphy, Palaeontology, Structural Geology, Geomorphology, The Planet Earth
Biotechnology (BT): In this paper, there are questions from the following subjects Physics (18 per cent weightage), Mathematics (18 per cent weightage), Chemistry (18 per cent weightage), and Biology (44 per cent weightage)
BT syllabus is 10+2+3 level.
IIT JAM 2021 result will be announced in the month of March 2021. Candidates will have to check the results online. On the basis of the results, merit lists will be prepared for general, SC/ST, PHD categories separately.
IIT JAM 2021 Results will be declared on March 20, 2021. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of AIR secured by the candidates in IIT JAM 2021.
Prepare in advance
If you are planning to take IIT JAM, it is necessary for you to schedule your preparation little early as the JAM exam takes more or less 4-5 hours of study in a day. Since JAM exam syllabus is based on graduation syllabus you can prepare easily along with your academics.
Follow the syllabus
The syllabus for the exam is announced by the organising institute in advance. Thus, it is mandatory to go through with each and every topic in order to excel in the exam.
Solving old and mock question papers will sure lead you on the road to success. Referring and solving old question papers also give an insight into the pattern of questions that can be expected in the exam. JAM question papers are available in the bookstore and online as well.
Refer IIT JAM books
Various books on IIT JAM are available in the market and also online. Referring to them while you are preparing will have an added advantage.
Basic computer skills
Since IIT JAM has a paper on computer applications it requires you to focus on basic knowledge of computer and fundamentals of C language.
