New time schedule for govt junior colleges

Starting this year,government junior colleges in the state will have a new time schedule.As against a government order issued five years ago to conduct classes from 9.45 am to 4 pm in government junior colleges,from the coming year colleges will have to run classes from 9 am to 4 pm.

Government junior college lecturers said changed timings will cause inconvenience to students from rural areas who are made to travel long distance.As per an order issued in 2007,the commencement timings in government junior colleges were changed from 9 am to 9.45 am considering the long distance which students have to travel to reach colleges in rural mandals.

We want the college timings as per the government order issued in 2007 even in the coming academic year, said P Madhusudan Reddy,general secretary,Government Junior College Lecturers Association.
