NEW DELHI — The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially commenced the registration process for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Entrance Exam 2027 for the upcoming academic session 2027–28. This year, the National Testing Agency has introduced biometric and identity verification measures to ensure transparency during the online submission:

• Aadhaar-Based e-KYC & Live Photo Capture: Candidates are required to undergo Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification during registration. Additionally, a live photograph must be captured using a webcam or mobile camera at the time of form completion alongside uploading a passport-sized photo.

• UDID Card for PwD Candidates: Applicants under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category must upload a valid Unique Disability ID (UDID) card issued by competent authorities.

Eligibility Criteria Snapshot

• UG Programmes (B.Des / B.F.Tech): Candidates must have completed or be appearing in Class 12 from a recognized board. For B.F.Tech, Mathematics in Class 12 is mandatory. The maximum age limit for general category undergraduate applicants is 24 years as of August 1, 2027 (relaxation applies for reserved categories).

• PG Programmes (M.Des / M.F.M. / M.F.Tech): Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree from a recognized university. There is no upper age limit for PG programs.

1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to the official NTA NIFT website at exams.nta.nic.in/niftee.

2. New Candidate Registration: Click on "NIFT 2027 Registration" and complete the initial sign-up using your active email address, mobile number, and Aadhaar/Government ID details.

3. Fill Out the Detailed Application: Log in using the generated application number and password. Enter personal details, educational qualifications, course preferences, and select four preferred exam center cities.

4. Complete Verification & Document Upload: Perform the mandatory Aadhaar e-KYC, capture the live photograph, and upload scanned copies of your signature, recent passport photograph, and category/UDID certificates in the prescribed format.

5. Pay the Application Fee: Pay the required examination fee (?2,000 for Open/EWS/OBC-NCL and INR 1,000 for SC/ST/PwD) through Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.
