NIFT 2024; National Institute of Fashion Technology NIFT was set up in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, NIFT has become a leader in the fashion industry and its 25 years of continuous journey stands as a testimony to its academic excellence and standards. Also every year the National Institute of Fashion Technology, NIFT, conducts an entrance exam to provide admissions into the various bachelor and master programs offered by this Fashion Technology Institute. The budding creative thinkers who get admitted into NIFT are provided with the required skills and input to blossom into a beautiful flower. The NIFT admission notification has been released and it's time for these creative thinkers to hurry up with the required process to get into the NIFT.

NIFT 2024 Exam Dates 

NIFT 2024 Application Form

• The availability of the NIFT 2024-25 application form will start on December 2023.
• There is an online mode available for filling out the application form. There will be no proviso like printed form at all
• Along with the application form, make a payment of Rs 5000/-as the payment for the application fee
• Candidates are advised to retain the proof of payment.

NIFT 2024 Application Fee:

• GEN/OBC (Non-Creamy layer) need to pay Rs. 2000/-
• PHP/SC/ST Category candidates need to make a payment of Rs. 1000/-

Modes of making payment for application fee:

• Credit or Debit Card, Net Banking
• Demand Draft

If you are opting for DD then it must be issued in the favour of ‘NIFT HO’ payable in New Delhi. Also, ensure that DD needs to be sent duly completed with an application at the mentioned address

NIFT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

 For Under Graduate Courses – Qualification Criteria:

• Those who are applying for B.Des must have completed their class 12th from some recognized board or central board like CISCE or CBSE or some other Or
• Must have obtained GCE or General Certificate Education exam (Sri-Lanka / London/Cambridge/) at an advanced level (A) level or IB (International Baccalaureate)
• Any Public School/ University/ Board Exam equivalent as 12th from India or from some foreign universities recognized by AIU
• Must have passed or appeared in the Senior Secondary School Exam commenced by NOS (National Open School) with minimum possible five subjects.
• Must have 3 year's diploma from a recognized institution.

B.F.Tech:    

• Candidate must have passed class 12th from the state board or central board with subjects like Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics
• Those who are holding Candidates holding diploma of 3 years in any branch of engineering are also eligible to apply.
• Age Criteria applicable For UG Courses:
• Maximum possible age limit applicable for undergraduate-level courses is 23 years as on Oct 01, 2024. However, there will be an age relaxation of 5 years in the category of PHP/ST/SC.

For PG Courses:

M.Des:

• Candidate must have attained a B.Des degree from some recognized institution.
• Must have acquired a diploma in UG Design from NID or NIFT
• Must have attained an undergraduate diploma of 3 years from NID or NIFT. Those who are appearing in the course can also apply for the NIFT 2024

MFM:

• Must have attained an undergraduate degree from some recognized institution
• Must have attained a diploma of 3 years from NID/NIFT. Those who are appearing in the course can also apply for the course

M.F.Tech:

• Candidate must have attained a B.Tech / B.E. degree from some recognized institution. Those who are appearing in the course can also apply for NIFT 2024
• Age Criteria applicable For PG Courses:
• There is no age limit for Post-Graduation courses.

NIFT 2024 Exam Pattern

Exam Mode: For all courses, GAT will be conducted in offline mode (PBT).

Exam duration: The duration of the GAT written test will be 2 hours (for B.Des & M.Des) and 3 hours (for B.F.Tech, MFM & M.F.Tech).

Number of Questions: Total of 100 questions will be asked in GAT for B.Des and 120 questions will be asked for M.Des.

Language: The paper medium will be English only.

Papers: For B.Des and M.Des, two written exams will be conducted i.e. GAT & CAT whereas for B.F.Tech, MFM & M.F.Tech only GAT will be conducted.

Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking.

NIFT 2024 Exam Syllabus:

NIFT entrance exam comprises of Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). Candidates who clear these tests are shortlisted to appear for the Situation Test as well as Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.

NIFT Admit Card 2024

• NIFT 2024 admit cards of eligible candidates will be available for downloading from the last week of January 2024.
• Admit cards will not be sent via post.
• Candidates have to mandatorily carry the admit card to the test center on the day of the examination.

Admit Cards downloading Process

• Visit the official website of the National Institute of Fashion Technology.
• Candidates can either download the NIFT Exam Admit card through the Application number or through login.
• To download through login, the candidate has to enter the registration Email ID and password for registered candidates only.
• To download the Application number, Candidates just need to enter the application number and click on submit button to view admit card.
• Candidate needs to download the admit card, take the print copy of the same and keep it safe for further use.

NIFT 2024 Result

• NIFT 2024 results will be declared in the month of June 2024
• The result will be declared online on the official website of NIFT.
• The result of B.F.Tech will be prepared on the basis of GAT only.
• Des results will be prepared on the basis of GAT, CAT, and Situation Test while M.Des results will be prepared on the basis of GAT, CAT, and GD/PI.
• The final result of MFM and M.F.Tech will be declared on the basis of GAT and GD/PI.

• NIFT 2024 counseling schedule will be released on the official website in the month of April / May 2024.

NIFT 2024 Preparation

1. The first thing that you need to do to begin your preparation is to have a complete idea about the syllabus. Stick to the prescribed syllabus of the NIFT entrance exam.
2. Set objectives of what you wish to achieve and in how much time. Decide on how much time you wish to spend on each section and plan your preparation accordingly. Practice is the key to success.
3. Try to sketch almost anything and everything you come across. Browse through various newspapers, magazines, and online sites. Take ideas from various advertisements, posters, banners, etc., you come across.
4. Try to master the skills of human illustration. Concentrate more on proportions, form, etc.
5. Calligraphy skills come in handy in posters, banner design, etc. Learn and practice different styles of lettering as they can come in handy.
6. Planning is very important. First, plan your ideas and then start sketching.
