NIRF 2024 Law Rankings: Like the last two years, the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru grabbed the top spot under the best-performing law colleges category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024.
This time, the fifth spot has been secured by Symbiosis Law School, which has improved its rank from sixth in 2023.
The ninth edition of the national rankings was released on Monday (August 12) by the Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan. This year, three new categories have been introduced — open universities, skill universities and state-funded government universities. Additionally, it has also been announced that the Ministry aims to begin ‘sustainability rankings’ from next year.
In 2023, NLSIU scored 80.52 points, an improvement from 78.00 points in 2022. The second position was secured by the National Law University, New Delhi, the same as 2022. The university scored 73.91 points.
Additionally, last year, Nalsar University of Law, Hyderabad secured the third spot with 73.76 points. In 2022, the university was in the fourth position. The number 4 rank last year was bagged by West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata with 69.34 points, up from the fifth position in 2022.
Last year, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi secured the fifth position with 68.30 points. It was up by two ranks from 2022’s seventh position. The sixth spot belonged to Symbiosis Law School, Pune (66.67 points) which was in the third position in 2022.
