Record Number of Applications for EAMCET this Year

With the due date for the submission of Eamcet applications ending on Wednesday, it has been revealed that a record number of students (3,88,570) have applied for the exam this year. Eamcet is to be held on May 12.

While nearly 2.94 lakh students applied for engineering exam, about 95,570 opted for medical exam. As many as 55 students submitted applications with a penalty of `10,000 on the last day.

While the Eamcet fee was just `250 if paid within the due date, students were allowed to pay the fee along with the late fee of `500, `1,000, `5,000 and `10,000 after the due date. About 1,500 students paid a late fee of `500, another 1,000 paid a late fee of `1,000 each.

Nearly 300 students paid a penalty of `5,000 and 155 paid a penalty of `10,000 each. “Students who applied for Eamcet by paying a penalty of `5,000 and `10,000 will be allotted centres only in Hyderabad,” said Dr N.V.Ramana Rao, convenor, Eamcet.
