Social Welfare Officer (SWO) exam paper leaked in Nizamabad

The question paper of social welfare officer (SWO) grade-II was leaked hours before the examination was to be held here on Sunday. Sources said the question paper was passed onto some candidates a few hours before the examination schedule to begin at 10 am. Sources said all the 150 questions were leaked to the aspirants who paid Rs 9 lakh to some influential persons in the district administration to get selected for the post. An Indira Kranthi Patham (IKP) employee, who prepared the question paper along with three district officers, allegedly downloaded it in a pen drive and handed it over to agents in a local hotel in the late hours of Saturday. Son of a top district officer, two wardens belonging to Bheemgal and Naziabad mandals and a former reporter of a Telugu news daily were also involved in the question paper leak. They collected Rs 9 lakh from each candidate to hand over the question paper a few hours before the examination, sources said. Activists of SFI submitted a memorandum to in-charge collector K Harshavardhan, who promised to conduct a comprehensive enquiry into the paper leakage. A total of 2,697 candidates appeared for the exam for 10 SWO posts.
