Truman Scholarship Nominates Seven Indian-American Students

Harry S Truman Scholarship is a one of the prestigious scholarships which is given to the college juniors for their leadership skills. Seven Indian-American students are selected for the Truman Scholarship for displaying their excellent leadership qualities and the finalist will be interviewed by the foundation regional review panel from 3^rd March 2017 to 7^th April 2017. On 21^st April 2017, scholars will be announced.

A rigorous application process which involves essays, recommendations and interviews will be followed and each 55 to 60 candidates are named Truman Scholars. The students receive the awards on the basis of their records of leadership, public service and academic achievement. All the students will compete for the prestigious awards, which is worth of USD 30,000 for the graduate study. As per the sources, foundation reviewed 768 potential scholars from 315 institutions before settling on the 199 students from 136 institutions.
