UGC NET Dec 2026 Correction Window Activated: Step-by-Step Guide to Edit Application Details

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the application form correction window for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2026 session. Candidates who have successfully submitted their online application forms and paid the requisite exam fee can now review and make necessary edits to their details by visiting the official NTA portal at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

According to the official schedule released by the testing agency, the correction facility remains active from November 2 to November 4, 2026 (until 11:50 PM). Candidates are strongly advised to double-check their application particulars and rectify any discrepancies well before the deadline, as no further extension or offline modifications will be entertained by the NTA after the specified window closes.

Fields Permitted for Modification

While the NTA allows applicants to update several vital parameters, certain core identifiers may remain uneditable to maintain examination security. Candidates can generally edit details including:

  • Editable Details: Personal details (e.g., father’s/mother’s name spelling), educational qualification details, chosen examination center preference, subject of examination, and category/sub-category (additional fee may apply if changing category results in a fee difference).

  • Non-Editable Details: Primary credentials verified during registration—such as mobile number, email address, permanent address, and registered candidate photo/signature (unless specifically flagged for re-upload)—typically cannot be altered.

Note: Depending on the changes made (such as changing category from General to SC/ST or vice versa), candidates may be required to pay an additional balance fee through online banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI. The modified application will only be accepted once the extra fee payment is confirmed.
