Jadavpur University is a government funded university located in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal. The University has 4 major streams, Arts, Science, Engineering & Management with a total student strength of around 13000 (in 2020). I am a student of B.E Production Engineering and can say that the level of education one can receive over here is one of the best in the country and the return of investment is very high (4 year engineering costs 12000 and the placement offerings can go as high as 59LPA). Although the infrastructure is not upto the mark to call it a university of excellence but rest all other factors gives you so much that you can overlook that.

Campus Facilities: The College campus located in the centre of the city of Kolkata. The faculty is top notch with on an average of more than 20 years of experience. The curriculum is semester system with exams every 6 months. The classrooms are air conditioned. The labs are nicely equipped with apparatus. The university campus has a one Central Library with a total of 6 Lakhs+ books of various domain. Apart from that every departments have departmental libraries. There is an SBI ATM inside the campus. A total of 6 canteens with hygienic food are present giving you options for variety of food items.

Campus Life: The campus life is very enthusiastic. A number of cultural, educational and technical fests happens around the year namely Srijan, Sanskriti, Arena, Convolution, etc. Various clubs like Science Club, Entrepreneurship Cell, Debating Society, Chess Club, Photographic Club, etc. provides students to participate in various extracurricular activities.

Faculty: The faculty of Jadavpur University is highly experienced and educated. All the professors are PHD holders with lots of knowledge in their fields. It is also true that some teachers even if they are educated lacks the proper knowledge to share their knowledge. But that isn't a big issue as that happens everywhere.

Placements: Internships - Few companies like Airbus, Tata, PWC, Goldman Sachs, and many more comes for on campus drives to offer internships. But majority of students opt for internships on their own, off campus. Job/Placements - The placement scenario of JU is by far one of the best in the country with annual CTC offering as high as 59LPA to more than one students for over number of years. Companies like, Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan are among the highest paying.

Campus/Events:

Start Up Incubator: The Entrepreneurship Cell of JU aims at developing the startup culture amongst the students. They organizes various events, Talks, learning sessions, etc. They also get sponsorships from various companies for their events and the companies also gives internship opportunities to the winners of those events.
