I’ve spent a good amount of time at GNIOT, and like any college, it has its ups and downs. Here’s my personal take on it: Academics The academics are honestly average. Some teachers are helpful and genuinely care about students, but the teaching style isn’t very modern. A lot depends on self-study and learning on your own, especially if you’re from CSE. If you’re proactive, you can manage well. Placements Placements are a mixed bag. For CSE, they are below expectations — you’ll need strong skills and maybe off-campus opportunities to land a good job. But for ECE, EE, and CE, placements are relatively better with decent companies coming in. At the end of the day, your skills matter more than the college name here. Fests & Events This is easily the best part of GNIOT. Fests, cultural events, and technical competitions are lively, well-organized, and bring the campus to life. You’ll definitely make memories here, and it’s a huge plus for student life. Infrastructure The infrastructure feels small compared to other colleges. It’s functional, but don’t expect a huge, fancy campus. Still, you’ll find the basic facilities you need. Pros: Fun and vibrant college fests & events Some supportive faculty members Better placements in non-CSE branches Students get decent exposure through activities Cons: Academics are average (not very innovative) CSE placements are weaker than expected Small campus infrastructure Need to rely a lot on self-learning

Campus Facilities: Stay Options (Hostel/PG): On-campus hostel facilities are available with basic amenities. Many students also choose nearby PGs and rented flats, which are easily accessible. Food Quality: The mess food is average – manageable but not great. Students often prefer outside food or ordering online for variety. Modern Amenities: Limited modern facilities; the campus is functional but not very advanced. Classrooms: Standard classrooms with basic setups, some equipped with projectors. Labs: Labs are available for different branches but not very advanced; they’re functional for practicals. Library: A decent library with enough study material and resources for reference. Bank & ATM: No bank or ATM facility inside the campus. Students rely on nearby markets/areas for this.
Campus Life: The best event of our college fest is “Aarambh” (music & cultural event). It always stands out because of the energy, crowd participation, and exposure it gives to performers. Bands from different colleges come to compete, and the atmosphere is electric with live music, cheering, and a real stage vibe. For me, the fun part was the vibrant crowd and the chance to interact with students from other colleges. It wasn’t just about watching a performance, but also about networking, making friends, and enjoying the cultural side of college life beyond academics. Events like this make the fest memorable – it’s not just fun but also gives you exposure to talent, creativity, and teamwork.
Faculty: One of my favourite faculty members at GNIOT was Rajendra Sir, who taught us Engineering Calculus in 1st year. He made a real difference in how I looked at mathematics. His teaching style was clear and student-friendly — he never just stuck to the book, but always explained concepts in a way that was easy to understand. What impressed me most was his patience; he never hesitated to repeat a topic until every student felt confident. In terms of education and experience, Rajendra Sir is highly knowledgeable, and it reflects in the way he connects theory with practical problem-solving. For me, he set a strong base in my first year, which helped later in tackling tougher subjects. Learning under him was one of the most positive academic experiences I had at GNIOT.
Placements: Placements at GNIOT are a mixed bag. Around 80–90% students (depending on branch) get placed, but CSE usually sees fewer offers compared to ECE, EE, and CE. Companies like Microsoft, TCS, HCL, Infosys, Accenture, Coforge, Bosch, Reliance and others have visited the campus. The highest package has touched around ?70 LPA, though such offers are rare; most students get packages between ?3.5–7 LPA. On average, the salary is around ?5–6.5 LPA, with internships and entry-level roles also part of the placement drives.
