Admissions to School of Open Learning start from May 27

The admission process for School of Open Learning, Delhi University, will start from May 27. Sale and receipt of admission forms, both offline and online, will start from May 27 and continue till August 14. However, anyone who misses the last date can still apply till September 1 by paying a late fee of Rs 200. SOL officials said the online option for application will only be available for the three honours courses - English, political science and B.Com. For BA and B.Com programmes, aspirants can also avail the offline forms. "Students can avoid coming to SOL as payments can also be made through State Bank of India branches. By using the online option, aspirants can also apply from the comfort of their homes or cyber cafe instead of coming to SOL and standing in the queue," said chairperson of Campus of Open Learning, C S Dubey. Each year around one lakh students enroll in various undergraduate courses of SOL. This year there is likely to be a hike in the fee by Rs 350. Moreover, SOL is planning to distribute study materials which students get at the time of admissions via pen drives and similar devices. "Students from economically weaker sections will continue to get hard copies," added Dubey.
