AIIMS 2027 – Eligibility Criteria

AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) 2027 has released eligibility guidelines for various undergraduate nursing programs. Applicants need to understand these criteria to ensure a successful application and avoid last-minute disqualification. The standards vary slightly for B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing, B.Sc. (Post-Basic) Nursing, and M.Sc. Nursing.

1. Eligibility for AIIMS B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing

• Nationality: Applicants must be Indian citizens.
• Gender: Only female candidates are eligible for B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing.
• Age Limit: Candidate must be at least 17 years old as on 31st December 2027. There is no upper age limit. Minimum date of birth: 31 December 2010.
• Academic Qualification: Candidate should have passed Class 12 Board exam or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects.
• Minimum marks: 55% aggregate for Gen/OBC/EWS, 50% for SC/ST.
• Candidates who are appearing for their Class 12 exam in 2027 or awaiting results are eligible to apply provisionally.

2. Eligibility for AIIMS B.Sc. (Post-Basic) Nursing

• Nationality: Must be Indian citizen.
• Gender: Open to both male and female candidates.
• Academic Qualification:
  • Qualified in Class 12 (Senior Secondary) or Class 11 (if cleared before 1996).
  • Should possess a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Registered Midwife (RM) with any State Nursing Council.
  • For male nurses who completed GNM before 2003, a six-month training in an accepted specialty (like OT Techniques, TB Nursing, etc.) is required.

3. Eligibility for AIIMS M.Sc. Nursing:

• Academic Qualification: Candidates must possess B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Certificate)/Post-Basic, or B.Sc. Nursing (4 years) degree.
• Minimum Marks: At least 60% marks (or 55% for SC/ST category) in the qualifying degree.

4. Key Points for All Applicants:

• All eligibility must be fulfilled as per program guidelines by the time of document verification/admission.
• Candidates failing to meet any criteria at the final stage may be disqualified from admission.
• AIIMS does not accept NEET UG scores for nursing courses; a separate entrance exam is conducted.
