FMGE 2026 EXAM SYLLABUS

The Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) 2026 syllabus defines the subjects and topics that candidates must study to qualify for provisional or permanent registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or respective State Medical Councils (SMCs) in India.

The FMGE syllabus is based on the MBBS curriculum as prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC), covering all essential pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical subjects taught during the MBBS course. The exam aims to assess a candidate’s conceptual understanding, clinical knowledge, and ability to apply medical concepts in practice.

FMGE 2026 is a computer-based test (CBT) consisting of 300 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), divided equally between pre/para-clinical subjects (Part A) and clinical subjects (Part B). Understanding the syllabus in advance helps candidates:

  • Plan a structured study schedule
  • Focus on high-weightage and clinically relevant topics
  • Revise efficiently before the exam
  • Ensure readiness for medical practice standards in India

A thorough understanding of the FMGE syllabus ensures candidates are prepared for both theoretical knowledge and applied clinical questions, which are crucial for passing this screening test.
