ICAI CA CPT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

ICAI CA CPT is a National level, entry-level qualifying examination, conducted two times a year i.e. in June and in December, This year CA CPT will be held On 2025. Candidates applying for CA CPT 2025 examination need to fulfill the following eligibility conditions of CA CPT 2025

ICAI CA CPT  Eligibility

  • Candidates must have registered/switched over to Common Proficiency Course with the Board of Studies of ICAI before October.
  • Candidates must have passed the 10+2 level (Senior Secondary) qualifying examination from any national or state-recognized Board of Secondary Education in India.
  • Candidates must get re-validate his/her registration to Common Proficiency Course in case it has been three years since their CPT registration. Candidates must note that CPT course registration is valid only for three years. So, candidates who are already registered need to re-validate from the concerned Regional Office before their registration expires for three years.
  • Candidates applying for CA CPT 2025 December examination must have a valid registration Id as at the time of registration.

Reservation for CPT  Exam:

There is no Reservation scheme announced by the authority, Hence all the candidates are treated the same to apply for the CPT exam, whether he/She is Gen/SC/ST/OBC.

Exemption from CA CPT 

  • Candidates who have completed graduation or post-graduation in the Commerce stream with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all subjects or its equivalent from a state or nationally recognized university are exempted from CA CPT.
  • Candidates qualifying for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from Open University are also exempted from appearing in CA CPT.
  • Candidates holding UG/PG degrees in a stream other than Commerce and have obtained at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grades from recognized universities (including Open University) are exempted from the CA CPT exam.
