JCECE 2026 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Before filling the JCECE 2026 application form, candidates must review the eligibility criteria. The JCECE examination 2026 eligibility requirements are listed here:

Nationality and Domicile

Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent/local residents of Jharkhand, proven by a valid Local Resident Certificate from competent authority during counselling. Additional proof includes 7 years of schooling or qualifying exam from Jharkhand institutions.

Age Limits

Minimum 17 years; maximum 22 years on July 1, 2026 for B.Tech Agriculture/Dairy, B.Sc Agriculture/Forestry, B.F.Sc (up to 25 years for some by Dec 31). SC/ST/OBC get 5-year upper limit relaxation; medical fitness check required.

JCECE 2026 Eligibility Criteria FAQs

Q1. What domicile proof is required? 

Ans. A valid Local Resident Certificate issued by Jharkhand authorities, or 7 years of study in Jharkhand schools is mandatory.

Q2. What is the age limit? 

Ans. Minimum age is 17 years as of July 1, 2026; maximum 22 years for most courses, with 5-year relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Q3. What educational qualifications are needed? 

Ans. Passing Class 12 or equivalent with PCM (for B.Tech Agriculture/Dairy Tech), PCB (for B.Sc Agriculture/Forestry), or PCMB for relevant courses, with minimum 45% aggregate (40% for reserved). B.V.Sc & AH require 50% in PCB and English.

Q4. Are there reservations? 

Ans. Yes, ST (26%), SC (10%), OBC (14%), and PwD candidates with 40%+ disability are eligible under reservation norms with valid certificates.

Q5. Is physical fitness mandatory? 

Ans. Yes, candidates must be physically fit as certified by a competent medical authority to be eligible for admission.
