JKCET 2026 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

JKCET 2026 eligibility criteria, set by JKBOPEE, require candidates to be domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir (with valid certificate) or hold an ST certificate from Ladakh UT, have passed or be appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and secure at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved categories).

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed or be appearing in 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board/university, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. English must also be qualified in Class 12. No limit on number of attempts.

Minimum Marks Requirement

General/Open Merit candidates need 45-50% aggregate in PCM (sources vary slightly; confirm official). Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/RBA/ALC/IB) require 40%. TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) treated as open merit.

Domicile and Nationality

Indian citizens with valid J&K domicile certificate or ST certificate from Ladakh UT competent authority are eligible; non-domiciles cannot apply. Domicile proof mandatory during counselling/admission.

Age Limit and Reservations

Minimum 17 years as on December 31, 2026; no upper age bar. Reservations: SC 8%, ST 20%, OBC 8%, ALC/IB 4%, Backward Area 10%, EWS 10%; additional quotas for defence personnel, sports, etc. Full details in official notification on jkbopee.gov.in.
