The NERIST NEE 2026 is the gateway to various Certificate, Diploma, and Degree programs at North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), catering to aspirants from the northeastern states and beyond. Eligibility criteria for each level—Base (NEE-I), Diploma (NEE-II), and Degree (NEE-III)—are meticulously defined to ensure fair access based on academic background and age.

NEE-I (Certificate/Base Module) Eligibility

  • Educational Qualification:Applicants must have passed or be appearing for the Class 10 board examination from a recognized board.
  • Age Limit:The maximum age is 19 years as of July 31, 2026, for General category candidates; 22 years for OBC and female candidates; and 24 years for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
  • Appearing Candidates:Those awaiting Class 10 results may also apply. Such candidates must submit proof of passing before admission finalization.

NEE-II (Diploma Module) Eligibility

Educational Qualification

  • For PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) stream: Must have passed Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • For PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) stream: Must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • For vocational/engineering streams: Candidates should have passed 10+2 (Vocational) / ITI / NERIST Certificate in relevant disciplines.
  • Age Limit: Not more than 23 years as of August 1, 2026, for General candidates; relaxation for OBC/female (26 years), SC/ST/PwD (28 years).
  • Appearing Candidates:Students awaiting Class 12/vocational results can apply conditionally.

NEE-III (Degree Module) Eligibility

  • Educational Qualification:Candidates must have a 3-year diploma in the relevant branch of engineering or technology with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10-point scale), or an NERIST Diploma with at least CGPA 6.0.
  • Age Limit:Maximum age is 40 years for General, 43 for OBC/female, and 45 for SC/ST/PwD candidates as of July 31, 2026.
  • Appearing Candidates:Final-semester diploma holders awaiting results can apply, with document verification required before admission.

Domicile and Reservation

  • Domicile Requirements:80% of seats are reserved for candidates from the eight North Eastern states (10% per state), 10% for candidates from the rest of India, 7% for PRC holders from NE states on merit, and 3% for persons with disabilities (40–75% locomotor disability).
  • Reservation:As per central government norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwD.
