SRM JEEE 2026 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) 2026 is conducted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) for admission into B.Tech programs. Candidates must carefully review the eligibility criteria to ensure they meet all requirements. Below are the detailed SRMJEEE 2026 eligibility criteria:

  1. Nationality

  • Indian citizens, NRIs, PIOs (Persons of Indian Origin), and OCI (Overseas Citizens of India) cardholders are eligible to apply.
  • Foreign nationals can also apply under the International Admissions category.
  1. Age Limit

  • Candidates must be born on or after July 1, 2004.
  • There is no upper age limit specified by SRMIST.
  1. Educational Qualification

For B.Tech Programs (General Entry)

  • Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 or an equivalent exam in 2026 from a recognized board.
  • Mandatory subjects:
    • Physics and Mathematics are compulsory for most B.Tech courses.
    • For Biotechnology and certain allied programs, Biology can replace Mathematics.
  1. Minimum Marks Required

  • Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in Class 12.
  • For SRM Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, and Amaravati campuses, the minimum required aggregate is 50%.

Eligibility for International Students

  • Students with foreign educational qualifications must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • They should have completed 12 years of schooling with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as core subjects.

Candidates Appearing in Class 12 in 2026

  • Students awaiting their Class 12 results are eligible to apply.
  • Admission will be provisional until they submit their final marksheet during counseling.

Lateral Entry (Direct Admission into 2nd Year)

  • Candidates with a Diploma in Engineering or a B.Sc. degree (with Mathematics as a core subject) are eligible for direct admission into the second year of B.Tech.
  • A minimum aggregate of 60% in the qualifying exam is required.

Candidates from NIOS or Open Schooling

  • Students from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) or any recognized open schooling board are eligible, provided they fulfill the minimum marks and subject requirements.

Ques.1 Is there a relaxation in eligibility criteria for reserved categories?

Ans: No, SRMIST does not provide any category-based relaxation.
The minimum aggregate requirement applies equally to all candidates.

Ques.2 Are diploma holders eligible for SRMJEEE 2026?

Ans: Diploma holders are not eligible to appear for SRMJEEE. However, they can apply for lateral entry (direct admission into the second year of B.Tech) if they meet the 60% aggregate requirement.

Ques.3 Who can apply for SRMJEEE 2026?

Ans: Indian citizens, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and foreign nationals can apply. However, international students must apply through the International Admissions category.
