TG POLYCET ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2026 

Before applying for the Telangana Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (TG POLYCET 2026), candidates must ensure they meet the prescribed eligibility requirements. The eligibility criteria mainly focus on factors such as nationality, domicile, educational qualifications, and age. Since the exam is designed for admission into diploma courses in engineering, non-engineering, and agriculture fields, meeting these conditions is mandatory for participation in the exam and counselling process.

  1. Nationality & Domicile

  • Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • Candidate should belong to Telangana / Andhra Pradesh and satisfy the local / non-local status requirements as per Telangana Government rules.

  1. Educational Qualification

  • Must have passed SSC (Class 10th) or an equivalent examination recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh.
  • Subjects in qualifying exam must include Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • Students appearing for the SSC 2026 board exam are also eligible to apply, but they must pass the exam before counselling.

  1. Minimum Marks Requirement

  • General category candidates must secure at least 35% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.
  • They must also score a minimum of 35% in each subject (Maths, Physics, Chemistry).
  • For SC/ST candidates, no minimum percentage is prescribed — they only need to pass SSC.

  1. Age Limit

  • There is no specific upper age limit for admission to diploma courses in Engineering and Technology.
  • For certain Agriculture / Veterinary / Horticulture diploma courses, the minimum age is 15 years as on the date of admission.

Other Conditions

  • Candidates who have passed compartmentally (with supplementary exams) are also eligible, provided they qualify before the counselling process.
  • The medium of study in qualifying exams (English/Telugu/Urdu) does not restrict eligibility, as the exam is bilingual.

Q1. Who can apply for TG POLYCET 2026?

Ans. Any candidate who has passed or is appearing for SSC/10th Class or equivalent exam with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry can apply.
