UPTET 2026 EXAM SYLLABUS

UPTET 2026 syllabus covers two papers: Paper 1 (Classes 1-5) with Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies; Paper 2 (Classes 6-8) adds Mathematics/Science or Social Studies instead of EVS.

Paper 1 Syllabus

  • Child Development & Pedagogy: Child growth stages, learning theories (Thorndike, Pavlov, Skinner), motivation, inclusive education.
  • Language I/II: Grammar, comprehension, pedagogy of language development.
  • Mathematics: Numbers, geometry, data handling (NCERT Class 1-5).
  • Environmental Studies: Family, environment, food, water (NCERT-based).

Paper 2 Syllabus

  • Child Development & Pedagogy: Same as Paper 1, with focus on upper primary.
  • Language I/II: Advanced comprehension, literature, teaching methods.
  • Maths/Science or Social Studies: Algebra/geometry/physics/chemistry (Maths/Sci) or history/geography/civics (Social) per NCERT Class 6-8.

Ans. Exam structure of UPTET -

  • Paper I: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1–5.
  • Paper II: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes 6–8.
  • Mode: Offline (pen and paper).
  • Duration: 2.5 hours each paper.
  • Type: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

Ans. Subjects included in Paper I-

  • Child Development & Pedagogy: Focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning for age group 6–11.
  • Language I (Hindi/Urdu/English): Grammar, comprehension, and teaching methodology.
  • Language II (English/Hindi): Skills in communication and comprehension.
  • Mathematics: Basic arithmetic, geometry, algebra, and pedagogy of mathematics.

  • Social Studies (for Social Science teachers): History, geography, political science, economics, and pedagogy.
