WBUT PGET 2026 COUNSELLING

WBUT PGET 2026 COUNSELING

WBUT PGET 2026 counseling is an online, merit-based process through which MAKAUT allots M.Tech/M.Pharm seats in university and affiliated colleges based on PGET/GATE/GPAT performance.

Counseling will begin after declaration of WBUT PGET 2026 results, tentatively from late July to August 2026, and will be conducted entirely online via the PGET portal (pget.examflix.in) with multiple rounds depending on seat vacancy. Detailed dates, rounds, and reporting deadlines will be notified in the official counseling notice on makautwb.ac.in and the PGET site.

Eligibility to participate

Only candidates who obtain a valid rank in WBUT PGET 2026 or are in the GATE/GPAT/other specified categories, and meet minimum academic eligibility (relevant B.E./B.Tech/B.Pharm/M.Sc. with required percentage), can register for counseling. Participation is compulsory even for GATE/GPAT qualified candidates; having a score alone does not guarantee a seat without counseling registration and choice filling.

Registration and counseling fee

  • Candidates must log in to the counseling portal using their PGET application number and password and complete a separate counseling registration form after results.
  • A non-refundable counseling fee (around Rs 500 for previous sessions) is paid online by debit/credit card or net banking to activate choice filling.
  • Registration is allowed only within the specified window; late entries or offline registration are not accepted.

Choice filling and locking

After payment, candidates can:

  • View the list of participating institutes and available M.Tech/M.Pharm specializations, along with category-wise seat matrices where published.
  • Fill and reorder multiple choices of courses and colleges in preference order; more choices increase chances of allotment.
  • Lock the final set of choices before the deadline; if not manually locked, the last saved choices may be auto-locked as per instructions.

Allotment result and reporting

  • Candidates can log in to download the provisional allotment letter, which shows allotted institute, course, category, reporting dates, and provisional fee details.
  • They must report to the allotted institute (or a designated reporting center, if notified) within the given period with originals and self-attested copies of all documents: rank card, admit card, marksheets, degree certificate, category/PwD certificates, sponsorship (if any), photo ID, and passport photos.
  • On successful document verification and payment of institutional admission fee, the seat is confirmed; failure to report or pay fee leads to cancellation of allotment

Further rounds and upgradation

If seats remain vacant:

  • Subsequent online rounds or spot counseling may be scheduled; candidates may be allowed to upgrade to higher-preference choices if their rank permits and seats open up.
  • Fresh registration may or may not be allowed for spot/physical rounds; details come in separate notices.
