Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Science (ASCOMS), Jammu – Application/Admission Process

Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences has a structured application and admission process for its undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/MS) programs. Following is a detailed overview of the procedures for the 2025-26 academic year.

Admission Process

MBBS Admission

  • Entrance Exam: Candidates must qualify for the NEET UG exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
  • Counseling: After qualifying, candidates need to participate in the Jammu and Kashmir NEET Counseling, organized by the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE). This process considers NEET scores, seat availability, and reservation criteria.

MD/MS Admission

  • Entrance Exam: Candidates must qualify for the NEET PG exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
  • Counseling: Similar to MBBS, candidates must participate in the Jammu and Kashmir NEET Counseling based on their NEET PG scores.

Eligibility Criteria

For MBBS

  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • The minimum age is 17 years by December 31 of the admission year.

For MD/MS

  • Candidates must hold an MBBS degree with at least 50% marks from an NMC-recognized institution.
  • A one-year internship is mandatory before admission.

  • NEET Admit Card
  • Scorecard or Rank Letter
  • Class 10 and Class 12 certificates and mark sheets
  • Identity proof (Aadhar/PAN/Driving License/Passport)
  • Eight passport-size photographs
  • Provisional Allotment Letter
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • PwD Certificate (if applicable)

For PG Candidates:

  • MBBS Certificate
  • MBBS Part II mark sheet
  • Medical Registration Certificate
  • Internship Completion Certificate
  • Identity proof with an attested photo
  • Birth Certificate (if not included in H.S.C. mark sheet)
  • NEET PG Score Card
  • Online Counseling Registration Certificate
  • Sponsorship Certificate from State Government (if applicable)
  • Eight passport-size photographs
