Akkamahadevi Women's University formerly known as Karnataka State Women's University. It is the first university exclusively for women in Karnataka. The educational university established in the year of August, 2003. The University accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘B’. It is recognized by University Grant Commission (UGC) and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is recognized under DEC for Distance Education across India and abroad. The university is dedicated to promote excellence through academic achievement, research, creativity, innovation, interaction and collaboration, personality development and leadership qualities. Akkamahadevi Women's University offers various UG programmes in Arts, Business Administration, Computer Applications, Commerce, Education, Fashion Technology, Home Science, Physical Education, Science and Social Work.
