DMI College of Engineering Scholarships & Eligibility

DMI College of Engineering (DMICE) in Chennai facilitates several government-sponsored scholarship schemes to support eligible students. These are primarily need-based and merit-based programs sanctioned by state and central government authorities.

Government Scholarship Schemes

Students at DMICE can apply for the following scholarships, subject to eligibility criteria:

  • Government of India Scholarship (SC/ST): Sanctioned by the District Harijan Welfare Office for students belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories.
  • State Scholarship for Backward Classes (BC): Provided through the District Backward Classes Welfare Office for students from Backward Classes whose parents' annual income is below Rs.50,000.
  • Scholarship for Most Backward Classes (MBC): Available for students from Most Backward Class categories, regardless of parental income.
  • National Merit Scholarship: Awarded by the Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Chennai, to students based on academic merit.
  • Other Specialized Scholarships:
    • Adi-Dravidar Welfare Loan: Offered by the Director of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare, Chennai.
    • Defence Services/Freedom Fighter Concessions: Fee concessions are available for the children of defence service personnel and freedom fighters, sanctioned by the Commissioner of Education.
