The Finolex Academy of Management and Technology (FAMT) was founded in 1996 to advance the nation's economic development by providing high-quality technical education at a reasonable cost. The academy has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), located in New Delhi; recognition from the Maharashtra government's Directorate of Technical Education (DTE); affiliation with the University of Mumbai; and a “B++” grade from the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC). 

One of the most prestigious engineering colleges in the area and state is FAMT, which is located on the scenic western coast of Maharashtra. Finolex Academy of Management and Technology (FAMT) offers a range of infrastructure facilities to its students. Some of the facilities available at FAMT include: 

Library- The library of Finolex Academy is qualitative, need-based, and has a current selection of books and journals that are catalogued to satisfy the information demands of instructors and students. Reference services, a competitive test section, a book bank for students in the SC/ST categories, and a current awareness service are also provided. It provides a 100 mbps leased line connection for online information retrieval. Through OPAC, it offers a computerized catalogue search engine (Online Public Access catalogue).

Hostel- Currently, the hostel is situated approximately 7 km from the Academy campus in Zadgaon, Ratnagiri's Finolex Industries Limited Housing Colony. Hostel residents now have access to a transportation service that runs on Academy schedules. There is a separate girls' hostel that can hold 90 students, while the boys' hostel can hold 150. There is a qualified medical doctor on the hostel grounds. Hostel residents can also use the mess facility. 

Cafeteria- FAMT features a nice cafeteria with enough space and food options to suit a variety of tastes. Food products are reasonably priced, and every effort is made to keep them hygienic and clean. 

Sports- FAMT works to encourage everyone on-campus—students, staff, and faculty—to be physically active and to pursue their goals in fitness and sports. In addition to academics, FAMT has always pushed its youthful and developing engineers to compete in sports at the state, national, and intercollegiate levels. Appropriate funding support is given for these national competitions.
