Govt. College for Women Parade Scholarships & Eligibility

The Government College for Women (Autonomous), Parade Ground, Jammu, provides extensive financial support through Union Territory (UT) and Central Government schemes. As a government-aided institution, it acts as a facilitating node for students to claim fee reimbursements and maintenance allowances.

For the 2026–2027 academic year, most applications are processed through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or the JK State Service Portal.

  • Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship: Available for PG students who are the only girl child in their family, providing a monthly stipend for two years.

  • PMSSS (Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme): While primarily for students studying outside J&K, students at GCW Parade who entered via the PMSSS quota receive full financial coverage for their academic and hostel fees.

Eligibility & Income Limits (2026 Update)

  • SC/ST Students: Annual family income should generally not exceed Rs.2.5 Lakh.

  • OBC/EBC/Pahari Students: Annual family income must be below Rs.1.5 Lakh to Rs.2.5 Lakh (varies by specific scheme).

  • Merit Criteria: For state merit scholarships, students typically need a minimum of 60% marks in their previous qualifying examination.
