Government College of Engineering & Technology (GCET), Jammu – Application/Admission Process

Undergraduate Admission Process:

Entrance Examination: Admission to the B.E./B.Tech programs is primarily based on the Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET), which is conducted by the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BoPEE). Candidates must qualify in this examination to be considered for admission.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate for general category students, with specific relaxations for reserved categories.

Application Procedure:

Interested candidates should apply online through the official BoPEE website. The application fee for JKCET is generally around INR 1000.

After the JKCET results are announced, successful candidates will participate in a counseling session where they can select their preferred courses based on their ranks.

Document Submission:

Upon selection, candidates must visit GCET with original documents, including:

10th and 12th mark sheets
Transfer certificate

Postgraduate Admission Process:

Entrance Requirement: For M. Tech programs, candidates are required to possess a valid GATE score. If there are insufficient GATE-qualified candidates, GCET may conduct its own entrance examination.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must hold a B.E./ B. Tech degree with at least 50% marks in the relevant field or an equivalent qualification.

Application Procedure: Similar to undergraduate admissions, candidates need to apply online and submit necessary documents during the admission process.
