The admission process for the Government College of Engineering (GECA), Aurangabad, is primarily governed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DHE) and the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. For the 2026-2027 academic session, the process follows the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).

Step-by-Step Application Process

  1. Entrance Registration: Apply for MHT CET or the relevant CET at cetcell.mahacet.org

  2. CAP Registration: After results are out, register for the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). You must upload documents like Class 10/12 marksheets, CET scorecards, and category certificates (Caste/Validity/EWS). 

  3. Document Verification: Visit a designated Scrutiny Center (SC) or choose the "E-Scrutiny" option to get your documents verified.

  4. Option Form Filling: This is the most critical step. Log in to the CAP portal and list Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad (Choice Code: 2008) as your preferred choice.

  5. Seat Allotment: Based on your merit rank and preferences, seats are allotted in three CAP rounds.

  6. Reporting: If allotted, you must "Freeze" or "Float" your seat and report to the college for final admission and fee payment.

     

4. Eligibility Requirements

  • Educational: 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry/Biotech/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects.

  • Minimum Marks: At least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories and PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).

  • Domicile: Most seats are reserved for Maharashtra State candidates. Outside Maharashtra (OMS) candidates are eligible for All-India seats via JEE Main.

5. Mandatory Documents for 2026

  • MHT CET / JEE Main Scorecard. 

  • HSSC (Class 12) & SSC (Class 10) Marksheets.

  • School Leaving Certificate (TC).

  • Maharashtra State Domicile Certificate (or Birth Certificate specifying the place of birth in Maharashtra). 

  • Category Documents: Caste Certificate, Caste Validity, and Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate valid up to March 31, 2027 (if applicable).

  • APAAR ID and Aadhaar Card.
