For the 2026-2027 academic session, students at the Government College of Engineering (GECA), Aurangabad, have access to a robust system of financial aid. These include major state-run schemes via the MahaDBT portal, central AICTE awards, and unique institutional support from the college's alumni.

 

1. State Government Scholarships (MahaDBT)

These are the most common financial aids for students who are domiciles of Maharashtra.

  • Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Fee Reimbursement (EBC):

    • Eligibility: For students in the Open/General/EWS category with a family income up to Rs.8 Lakh. 

    • Benefit: Provides a 50% waiver on tuition fees and examination fees.

  • Post-Matric Scholarship (SC/ST/OBC/VJNT/SBC):

    • SC/ST: Typically covers 100% of tuition and development fees. Students often pay only a nominal "Institutional Fee" (approx. Rs.200–Rs.1,500). 

    • OBC/VJNT/SBC: Provides a 50% waiver on tuition fees for students with family income below ?8 Lakh.

  • Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Hostel Subsidy:

    • Target: Students from labor-class families or small land-holding farmers (Alpabhudharak).

    • Benefit: Provides an annual allowance of approx. Rs.20,000 to Rs.30,000 for hostel/accommodation expenses.

2. AICTE National-Level Scholarships

These central schemes target specific demographics within technical education:

  • Pragati Scholarship for Girls: For up to two girls per family with an income below ?8 Lakh. Provides Rs.50,000 per year for every year of study. 

  • Saksham Scholarship: Specifically for differently-abled students (disability >40%) with family income below ?8 Lakh. Provides Rs.50,000 per year.

  • Swanath Scholarship: For orphans, wards of armed forces/paramilitary personnel killed in action, or children of parents who died due to Covid-19. Provides Rs.50,000 per year. 

  • GATE Stipend: For M.Tech students with a valid GATE score, providing Rs.12,400 per month. 

3. Institutional & Private Support

  • GECA Alumni Association Scholarship: One of the unique features of GECA is its strong alumni network, which provides merit-cum-means scholarships. These can range up to Rs.25,000 per year for economically disadvantaged students, usually starting from the second year. 

  • Earn and Learn Scheme: The college provides opportunities for students to work in the library or labs for a fixed number of hours to earn a monthly stipend.

  • Siemens Scholarship: Based on competitive exams and interviews, Siemens often selects GECA students for full-tuition coverage and professional mentorship.
