Government College of Engineering Nagpur Application/Admission Process

The admission process for the Government College of Engineering (GCOE), Nagpur, is centralized and managed by the State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell), Maharashtra. Admission is purely merit-based, and there is no management quota.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Tech (Regular):Passed 10+2 (HSC) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology.
  • General Category:Minimum 50% aggregate in PCM.
  • Reserved Categories (Maharashtra Only):Minimum 45% aggregate in PCM.
    • Tech (Lateral):Diploma in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories).
    • Tech:Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field with at least 50% aggregate.

Centralized Admission Process (CAP)

Admission is conducted through a series of CAP Rounds. The process is as follows:

  1. Online Registration:Candidates must register on the official OJEE/CET Cell portal (cetcell.mahacet.org) after entrance results are declared.
  2. Document Verification:Physical or e-scrutiny of original documents at a designated Facilitation Center (FC).
  3. Merit List:The CET Cell publishes a Provisional and then a Final Merit List based on exam scores and category-wise rankings.
  4. Choice Filling (Option Form):Students list their college and branch preferences. GCOE Nagpur (DTE Code: 4025) should be at the top if it is your first choice.
  5. Seat Allotment:Based on merit and preferences, a seat is allotted. Candidates must then "Freeze" or "Float" the seat.
  6. Reporting:Visit the allotted institute to pay the remaining fees and verify physical documents.

  • MHT CET Results: June 2026
  • CAP Registration: Late June – July 2026
  • Final Merit List Release: July 24, 2026
  • CAP Round I Allotment: Late July 2026
  • Reporting to GCOE Nagpur: August 2026

  • SSC (10th) and HSC (12th) Mark sheets.
  • Entrance Exam Scorecard (MHT CETJEE Main / GATE).
  • School Leaving Certificate (LC) / TC.
  • Domicile Certificate (Mandatory for Maharashtra State seats).
  • Caste Certificate, Validity, and Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) (If applying under reserved categories).
  • Income Certificate (If applying for EWS or TFWS schemes).
  • Aadhaar Card and 4 Passport size photographs.
